Retrospective
Moonfleet
Gentleman and crook Jeremy Fox takes an orphan boy under his wing and goes in pursuit of a diamond. Lang struggles with the CinemaScope format ("only good for funerals") and with the child actor. Although the project ends in disaster, young French critics see something else in it: an auteur filmmaker standing firm against all odds. (Florian Widegger)
