This film adaptation of a Roald Dahl story tells the tale of a super-intelligent girl who loves books, can read minds—and unfortunately has completely chaotic parents. Her father is a sleazy car salesman, her mother spends most of her time watching television.

At school, Matilda encounters the nasty headmistress Mrs. Trunchbull—a truly terrifying figure with experience in hammer throwing. Fortunately, there is also Miss Honey, a friendly and kind teacher who finally understands Matilda. With brains, courage, and magical powers, Matilda ensures that the good guys win in the end – and that Mrs. Trunchbull not only sends others flying through the air, but perhaps ends up flying through the air herself...
