Lucky
Lucky is 90 years old, lives alone in a small desert town, and faithfully follows the routines that shape his solitary life. When an unexpected incident forces him to confront his own mortality, he begins reflecting on life, aging, and death. As he wanders through his neighborhood, encounters with eccentric locals and longtime friends gradually lead him to see the world in a new light.
Directed by John Carroll Lynch, Lucky (2017) is a quietly profound meditation on growing old and embracing life's inevitable end. Anchored by Harry Dean Stanton's final leading performance and featuring a memorable appearance by David Lynch, the film is a heartfelt celebration of existence—filled with dry humor, compassion, and understated wisdom.
