Lewerentz – Divine Darkness
Architect Sigurd Lewerentz (1885–1975) was one of the defining figures of 20th-century Swedish architecture. Committed to no particular style, he created an extraordinary body of work characterised by meticulous precision and exceptional craftsmanship. Yet he remains one of the great unknowns of Scandinavian modernism.
Director Sven Blume looks behind the veil surrounding this elusive figure. Drawing on previously unseen film and audio recordings, the documentary approaches its enigmatic protagonist and traces the development of his work and ideas.
