In 1995, 95 lesbian activists traveled to Beijing to participate in the Fourth UN World Conference on Women – a historic moment, as for the first time, an openly lesbian woman was given official speaking time. This was accompanied by the largest visibility campaign for queer women worldwide to date.
A quarter of a century later, director Bev Palesa Ditsie looks back: What has changed since then? In her search for answers, she creates a moving portrait of pioneers, international solidarity, and lifelong friendship.
