Les Misérables

After 19 years in prison, Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) is released by prison warden Javert (Russell Crowe). However, he violates the terms of his parole and uses the proceeds from stolen silver to build a new life for himself as a factory owner and mayor. Javert vows to put him back behind bars. Eight years later, following the death of her mother (Anne Hathaway), Valjean takes on guardianship of the young Cosette. But Javert’s relentless pursuit makes a peaceful life seem a distant prospect.
