Le journal d’une femme de chambre

Gianina, a young Romanian woman, works as a maid for a wealthy family in Bordeaux. In the evenings, she rehearses the role of a lady's maid with an amateur theater group for an adaptation of Octave Mirbeau’s "Diary of a Chambermaid". In her daily life, she looks after Louen, her employers' son, while her own daughter grows up far away in Romania. The separation from her mother weighs increasingly heavily on her, yet as Christmas approaches, the hope of a reunion begins to stir.
