Jean-Yves, an unknown and generally hapless painter, leaves Brussels to seek inspiration in Normandy and create a masterpiece that will finally bring him fame and lasting recognition. But the local artists and a manipulative gallery owner soon confront the cheerful, naive and warm-hearted painter with the harsh reality.
