Landrián Vuelve Al Baile

From 1962, Nicolás Guillén Landrián was active as a documentary filmmaker. Considered the first Afro-Cuban filmmaker, he was initially still in favour of the revolution, but he and his poetic, experimental films soon became a thorn in the side of the censors. Some of his films were kept under lock and key for decades, and Landrián was arrested and interned several times.
When Ernesto Daranas learnt that the negatives of Landrián's films were in poor condition, he set himself the task of restoring them and accompanying the process with a documentary film.
