La cage aux folles

Nightclub owner Renato and his star/husband are confronted with the news that their son wants to marry the daughter of a conservative politician. To win over their future in-laws, the couple slip into the role of straight, conservative people. The film became an international success and left a lasting mark on queer cinema long after its premiere. The play can also be seen at this year’s Seefestspiele in Mörbisch.
