Duration103min.

With a detective story and the popular character Nick Winter, a social drama with fast-paced chases and a visually impressive melodrama, we follow in the footsteps of cinema-goer Kafka, who documented his visit to these early colportage films in his diaries. The pace of life and film was much slower over 100 years ago, but the audience's greed for the spectacle then as now was just as great as the subsequent disillusionment: ‘I am completely empty and senseless, the passing electricity has more living meaning.’ (red)
