Konrad aus der Konservenbüchse

From Claudia Schröder

With Daniel Thorbeke, Violetta Ferrari, Heinz Schubert

Year 1983

Duration 80 min.

Language German

"Hello, dear Mother." Mrs. Bartolotti is astonished when a bright-eyed boy looks out at her from the tin can that has just been delivered. Konrad is well-mannered and sensible—the exact opposite of the colorful Mrs. Bartolotti, who crumbles crackers in her bed while eating dinner and finds well-behaved people boring. When Konrad’s delivery turns out to be a mistake, Mrs. Bartolotti, Egon the pharmacist, and the neighbor girl Kitty come up with inventive ways to ensure the boy can stay.

Marking Christine Nöstlinger’s 90th birthday: This 1983 film adaptation of the children's book classic shines with brilliant dialogue, lovable characters, and delightfully absurd humor—while illustrating what truly matters in a loving parent-child relationship, then and now.
