From Martin Campbell

With Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Judi Dench

Year 2006

Duration 144 min.

Language English

CASINO ROYALE marks the beginning of a new era for James Bond (Daniel Craig). Newly promoted to 00 status, Agent 007 embarks on his first mission: to prevent the ruthless financier Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) from losing his clients’ money at a high-stakes poker tournament at Casino Royale in Montenegro. Bond is assisted by Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), a British Treasury agent who puts not only his skills at the card table but also his emotions to the test. As the confrontation with Le Chiffre intensifies, Bond finds himself caught in a dangerous game of deception, betrayal and manipulation.

With its uncompromising style, gripping action sequences and a more vulnerable, human portrayal of James Bond, Martin Campbell’s film ushers in a new chapter in the legendary spy franchise.
