Innsbruck International: Clemens von Wedemayer
Clemens von Wedemeyer (*1974 in Göttingen, lives and works in Berlin) creates films and media installations at the intersection of reality and fiction. His works explore power structures in social relationships, history, and architecture. For 25 years, his interest in group dynamics, crowds, and their visual power has shaped his artistic practice. His solo exhibitions have been presented at institutions including MoMA PS1 in New York City, the Barbican Art Centre in London, Kunsthalle Hamburg, and the Kunstmuseum Luzern.
As part of INNSBRUCK INTERNATIONAL, von Wedemeyer will present the films Social Geometry and Surface Composition. Afterwards, Chris Clarke, curator of INNSBRUCK INTERNATIONAL, will speak with the artist.
