I Soliti Ignoti

Five would-be petty criminals have a plan: to finally get rid of their financial worries, they want to break into the safe in a pawnshop. But that's easier said than done - because the quintet don't know anything about burglary. An experienced safe-cracker is supposed to do the job, but there's also a handful of pretty ladies who keep distracting them from their task. In short: everything that can go wrong goes wrong ... A touch of neorealism meets commedia all'italiana (of which the film is considered a cornerstone and milestone) - and in Mario Monicelli's burlesque cinema fun, comedy legend Totò meets a whole host of future acting stars: film history in the making, and of the amusing and instructive variety.
