Duration
99 min.
Nine-year-old Somira and her four-year-old brother Shafi set off on a clandestine boat journey to Malaysia from a Rohingya refugee camp, accompanied by their aunt and grandfather. An uncle is waiting for them there, but the escape does not go as planned. On their arduous journey, they also meet people who are well-disposed towards them and find moments in which they can let their imaginations run wild. Filmed with a handheld camera, Fujimoto tells a story of flight from a child’s perspective in a playful yet realistic manner. The first feature film shot in the Rohingya language.
