Goran Rebić – Meine Reisen nach Georgien
In the early 1990s, filmmaker Goran Rebić travels to newly independent Georgia for the first time, gets to know the country and its people and meets four people who talk about life in the capital: There is an air of optimism in the air, which will soon be cancelled out by the civil war. DURING THE MANY YEARS is therefore also a document of a brief period of happiness. To present his film, Rebić has selected two impressive short films by Mikhail Kobakhidze, whose modern silent films between realism, satire and avant-garde enjoyed great international success in the 1960s, before the Soviet censors categorised him as formalist and banned him from filming in 1969.
