Fury

The first film made in his new homeland—a double-edged welcome gift to the USA: the story of an ordinary guy (lesson one in Hollywood: the hero of an American film cannot belong to the upper class) who, finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, is imprisoned for a crime he did not commit and nearly falls victim to a lynch mob. While the ringleaders stand trial, he takes the law into his own hands under the cover of darkness... Lang may have left Germany behind, but not his artistic obsessions: echoing "M", "FURY" depicts the ease with which the masses can be swayed and a society that equates justice with retribution. In the introductory interview, Lang discusses the making of the film.
