Freud

Freud's early years, which include his studies on hysteria and the Oedipus complex, are the focus of this first biopic. Huston boldly interweaves elements from Freud's life and his research to create a detective story clearly reminiscent of his earlier films noirs. The descent into the depths of the soul seems all the more oppressive because the inner demons with which leading actor Montgomery Clift is already wrestling are evident in his performance.
