Fragile Memory

In the 1960s, Soviet cameraman Leonid Burlaka worked in his native city of Odessa on films that went around the world at the time. He is now 80 years old, but his dementia is causing his memories to fade. Instead, his grandson, filmmaker Igor Ivanko, finds his extraordinary film archive in a dusty garage. The development and viewing of this immeasurable treasure trove of film, which has been lying dormant among tools and gardening equipment, becomes an autobiographical journey for the man in his mid-twenties, leading not only through the history of one family, but that of the entire Ukrainian people.
