The Austrian Film Museum views amateur film not merely as a document, but as a living practice. Films that defy clear categorization have the potential to offer keen observations on political realities, capture the atmosphere of an era, and make contemporary history tangible. This program presents a curated cross-section of material from the research project. (S.Z.)

Many filmmakers will be present to discuss their work and the contexts in which the films were created.
