Fellinis Stadt der Frauen
Snàporaz looks like a dignified man in his prime - but when it comes to women, he chases after skirts like a young goat. When he meets a seductive lady on a train journey, there's no stopping him again: He follows her into the middle of the forest and soon finds himself, as if he has crawled down a rabbit hole, in an absurdly different world in which feminists are suddenly in charge and men like him are deregistered. A colourful, wild, poetic and political series of images takes its course ... As a small addendum to our Mastroianni retrospective from the previous month, we present Fellini's aggressive and controversial fantasy, in which traditional macho dreams come into conflict with advancing female emancipation.
