FEELS LIKE HOME

Rita, who has just lost her job, is kidnapped on her way home and finds herself tied up in a sparsely furnished room. Her kidnapper claims she is his runaway sister Szilvi, a member of the Árpád family, into which she is to be reintegrated following appropriate rehabilitation. After initial resistance, Rita gradually realises that the only possible way out lies in the role forced upon her. Gábor Holtai’s oppressively staged and superbly acted feature film debut breaks with genre conventions through clever twists and became a hit with audiences in Hungary, not least because of its readability as a scathing critique of autocracy.
