Exit … nur keine Panik
‘Can you make yourself a bit important vagina-wise, or what?’ Strizzis Kirchhoff and Plachinger work their way through Novotny's first feature film with more than just verbal low blows. They fight, shoot, shag, vomit and dream of a bourgeois existence in their own espresso (with a stolen machine, of course). The creative and destructive forces of boredom are celebrated by the protagonists in the Viennese suburbs with the appropriate vigour and almost lethal force - ‘Dead in the Head’ is the programmatic title that underlines the goings-on. Garish, irreverent, in the full range of dialect, EXIT has earned its current cult status. And, as it should be, decently anarchic: ‘Red ned so ordinär, du Oaschloch!’ (Silvia Breuss)
