EL GRAN MOVIMIENTO (THE GREAT MOVEMENT)

Elder and two mates join the miners' protests in La Paz and drift through the city in search of jobs and beer. A market woman thinks she recognises Elder as a godchild and gets him a job. When he falls ill, she finds him a shaman (or a hermit?) and his feverish hallucinations also infect the 16mm film material. Mysterious interpretations compete with sober observations in this hypnotic cinematic experience, a city symphony for La Paz - the least Europeanised city in Latin America according to Kiro Russo.
