On good days, Ronja’s father is the funniest, sweetest dad in the world; shortly before Christmas, he even lands a job selling Christmas trees. On bad days—when Dad has been drinking—he won’t get out of bed, and the fridge stays empty. At times like these, her older sister Melissa looks after the ten-year-old, and the sisters lean on each other for support. Yet Ronja increasingly realizes that clinging to her dreams and keeping the problem a secret cannot be the solution to life with an alcoholic father.
