How can the turbulent history of modern Lebanon be told? Filmmaker and artist Lana Daher’s answer is an energetic audiovisual collage comprising over 20,000 sources of images and sound: excerpts from films, home videos, news reports, social media and photographs complement, contradict and comment on one another. This creates a new, meaningful (dis)order. The result is a cinematic declaration of love for Beirut that lays bare the country’s fault lines – serving simultaneously as an indictment, a process of mourning and a gesture of resistance.
