Disobedience

A gripping drama deeply rooted in the life of an Orthodox Jewish community in London: when Ronit returns following her father’s death, she is confronted with her past and a forbidden love for Esti. The film paints a multi-layered picture of Jewish religiosity – caught between tradition, social pressure and individual freedom – and asks whether personal desire and religious affiliation are compatible.
