Der Traum des Sandino

LA ESPERANZA had barely been completed when Margareta Heinrich returned to Nicaragua, this time with Rudi Palla, to continue her film work. THE DREAM OF SANDINO seems less rushed than its predecessor, which clearly aimed to capture the upheaval in the country quite directly. One link is the hospital in La Esperanza with the Austrian doctors, which is visited again - in addition, Heinrich and Palla show life and everyday life in the co-operatives, let the workers and farmers have their say (Succus: The revolution is good, but not over yet) and focus in particular on the major literacy campaign launched by the Sandinistas.
