Clarke Ephemera: Early unfinished works and other rarities

Dennis Doros and Amy Heller of Milestone Film & Video – a distributor dedicated to cinema outside the mainstream – have spent almost two decades meticulously cataloguing and restoring Shirley Clarke’s work. This programme, curated specifically for this retrospective, brings together Shirley Clarke’s ephemera – unfinished works, ‘lost’ films and other rarities – and reflects many facets of her oeuvre: from dance films to a children’s film once believed to be lost, on which Clarke collaborated, and an experimental short film opposing the Vietnam War.
