Cinema Next: Filme der BMWKMS-StartstipendiatInnen 2026

The "Startstipendien" (initial grants) for film art—awarded annually by the Art and Culture Section of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Art, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS)—enable young filmmakers to mature their ideas and develop new feature-length film projects through both financial and substantive support. Following the conclusion of the grant period, the six 2026 grant recipients will present their ideas for fiction, documentary, and experimental films—the very concepts with which they originally applied and which they have since further developed—during an exciting and multifaceted evening.
