Chronicles from the Siege
Abdallah Al-Khatib experienced and documented the siege of Yarmouk, the Palestinian refugee camp near Damascus. This resulted in LITTLE PALESTINE (winner of the documentary competition at IFFI #30). He is now expanding on these experiences to create a feature film which – though fictional and without specific locations – draws on real events. Five episodes of a cruel daily existence: hunger, the search for fuel during a ceasefire, the small freedom of a cigarette, a meeting between lovers, and the makeshift care of the wounded in a hospital. Humanistic, harrowing and even humorous.
