In 2010, Khavn travelled to Cameroon and took advantage of the fact that Filipino filmmakers enjoy a high reputation in this African country because Filipino soap operas are very popular with the locals. CAMEROON LOVE LETTER (FOR SOLO PIANO) is a document of this journey, composed to correspond with Khavn's original film score. It has a level of humility and understanding that European filmmakers on African safaris do not usually achieve. Khavn: "Shoot what you like. The death of Michael Jackson in Africa. A thief tries to steal my friend's camera. My friend screams for help. The thief hides in a manhole. A few minutes later, a zombie hand emerges from the manhole holding the camera. Melancholic blue. When PANGAKO SA 'YO (2000-2002) is shown on television, apartheid is over." (Jurij Meden)
