Billie & Emma

Set in the mid-1990s, the film tells the story of Billie, a girl who is sent away from Manila to a small provincial town to live with her unmarried aunt, who is also the town’s religious education teacher. Although she tries to get through her final year of school without incident, her cool look and unconventional manner make her the talk of the town from the moment she arrives. Billie tries to hide from the world until she meets Emma, the ambitious model pupil who is adored by everyone. At first, their interactions are a bit awkward, but Emma slowly draws Billie out of her shell, and soon the two fall in love. But things get complicated when Emma discovers she is pregnant…
