Bewegungsbild / Sag mir Mnemosyne / Blackstory
"Bewegungsbild" (Moving Image) was produced as a video installation on three screens about the history of cinema, commissioned by and exhibited at the Vienna Technical Museum. A single-screen version survives. In "Sag mir Mnemosyne" (Tell Me Mnemosyne), director Lisa Sperling traces the life of her great-uncle, who was a cameraman. Together with her editor and co-cinematographer Florian Kläger, she weaves the old black-and-white footage with new color shots into an associative essay on film as a vehicle for memory. The thriller "Blackstory" uses split screens to make pitch-black allusions to cinema history and sends its protagonists on a hellish journey between love and death.
