This programme moves, perhaps much like Onyeka Igwe’s films, through time, backwards and forwards, simultaneously. It begins with her latest film, Penkelemes, which explores the history of the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, and then traces Igwe’s work and her engagement with archives through a multitude of voices. Movements, both physical and social, are omnipresent; they defy the boundaries of the image and challenge visual and colonial narratives. Finally, in A Radical Duet, past and present converge in a radical play of the imagination. (M.B.)
