Bent

Berlin, 1934: On the eve of the Röhm Putsch, the final party is held at Greta’s club. Max, a man who loves life, and his friend Rudy are both part of the gay nightlife scene. Then comes the infamous Night of the Long Knives; Max and Rudy manage to flee but are eventually caught and deported to Dachau. On the train to the concentration camp, Max learns from a fellow prisoner, Horst, how to cope with the new order. To survive, he does what the Gestapo demands and denies his homosexuality. Through his bond with Horst, Max comes to realize that in a relationship between two people, trust and closeness matter more than physical love.
