Best friends Argyro and Anneta are different, but inseparable. While Argyro works as a farmer, Anneta is the “it girl” of their small Greek mountain village. All the men are at her feet—and, secretly, Argyro’s too. But then Anneta becomes pregnant by her boyfriend, a police officer from the next-largest town. Before life tears the friends apart, Argyro challenges Anneta: together, they set out on a journey that will change their lives, in search of the mythical Bear Cave.

Following the success of their short film of the same name, the directing duo of Stergios Dinopoulos and Krysianna B. Papadakis further develops the story of the queer friends Argyro and Anetta, who fearlessly assert their need for authentic closeness in the face of a heteronormative world. In 2024, BEARCAVE won the grand prize in the Works in Progress competition in Thessaloniki. A year later, their film celebrated its world premiere in Venice.
