Bauryna Salu
Yersultan is the first-born in the nomadic tribal tradition of Bauryna Salu and is placed in the care of his grandmother at birth. His young, hard life between work in the salt mine and infrequent school attendance is shattered by the death of his grandmother. The twelve-year-old has to return to his parents, who have become strangers to him, for whom he hardly feels any love, but rather the echo of a vague desire to see them again. Yersultan's coming-of-age, the painful transformation and the attempt to rebuild his relationship with his parents, especially his father, are at the centre of the film.
