Basket Case
When the Museum of Modern Art digitally restores a film, the work in question must surely be art—even if it concerns conjoined twins separated shortly after birth, one of whom looks perfectly ordinary while the other... doesn't. Which is why, dear SLASHies, you should view *Basket Case* with the reverence it deserves: after all, in 2017, MoMA helped ensure the enduring legacy of Frank Henenlotter’s midnight-movie milestone. Yet, alongside fabulously tasteless bloodbaths, *Basket Case* also offers an unexpected amount of heart, portraying the bond between the vastly different brothers with truly compelling emotion. Great art, plain and simple. (Olaf Möller)
