IT’S TIME TO FEED THE BABY! But instead of a pregnancy guide, we get the bloody declaration of war from a parasite that sees motherhood as a battlefield. BABY BLOOD combines body horror with anarchic splatter – previously unseen in France – and can thus be described as an early highlight of the New French Extremity.

It all begins with a tiger carrying something inside it that doesn’t really belong there. When the ancient, serpent-like creature escapes from its carcass, it finds a new home in the body of the circus artist Yanka (Emmanuelle Escourrou), or more precisely, in her womb. From now on, she is no longer alone. And the voice in her head – that is, the rapidly growing baby, dubbed in English by Gary Oldman (!) – demands blood. Lots of blood…
