Az én XX. Századom (My 20th Century)
Separated as children, twin sisters Lili and Dóra grow up to become complete opposites in the early 20th century. While one rebels against social conventions as a naive feminist, the other lives at the expense of wealthy men. Their paths cross again when both meet the same man—who has no idea that he is dealing with two different women… Captured in striking black and white, we encounter a world caught in a frenzy of modernization, fascinated by the scientific marvels of the era—above all, the birth of cinema. Enyedi’s debut film, which won an award at Cannes, serves as a uniquely ambivalent ode to an age whose promises, in hindsight, reveal themselves to be deceptive. (Fruzsi Vajda)
