Three seconds or four hours: that's the temporal range of Manfred Schwaba's works in this program. For Atlantic35, he asked a friend who was spending her vacation on the Atlantic coast to expose a roll of 35mm black and white film with his small half-frame camera. 36 photos capture a single moment of the sea. Sea, 4h, sailed embraces duration. Four hours of the sea's infinity, filmed on 16mm. No computer was used between filming on the sailboat and the screening in the cinema. Analog film development makes it possible to experience this perceptual experiment without any digital manipulation.
