Arsa
On a remote island, 18-year-old Arsa lives in close connection with nature and the traces left behind by the sea. She creates her own mysterious world from washed-up objects. When a group of young people arrives on the island, her fragile order is disrupted. A poetic film about solitude, memory, and the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
ARSA is a poetic, surreal arthouse film that oscillates between fairy tale, coming-of-age story, and contemporary art. The Italian artist duo MASBEDO—Nicolò Massazza and Iacopo Bedogni—has been working at the intersection of video, installation, performance, and cinema since 1999; in ARSA, they bring their highly visual, atmospheric aesthetic to a feature film.
