Angry Spirits
Ainur, who grew up in a traditional herding family, now lives with her daughter and her partner in Ulaanbaatar. As a dancer in a strip club, the nights turn into day - alcohol and drugs make life seem easy. Haunted by the spirits of her ancestors, she turns to a shaman who helps her to follow the call of the ancestors, open up to the spiritual world and return to her ancestral land. On her journey, she is confronted with the destruction of the landscape, affected by exploitation and environmental degradation. How can she heal herself and her homeland?
In close collaboration with Ainur, Pakulla creates re-enacted scenes of key moments on her path to reconciliation with herself, her ancestors and nature.
