Grand May 1 Gala Screening! AMS – WORK IS A MUST celebrates “Labor Day” together with the 2nd Vienna Labor Film Festival

In this satire revolving around a fictional AMS, the “Job Matching System,” a group of long-term unemployed people, led by Marie Wotruba (Margarethe Tiesel), band together to fight against the structures that prevent them from living the lives they want. This requires solidarity, ingenuity, and allies both outside and within the system.

What initially appears to be a classic social drama surprisingly quickly evolves into a lively offbeat musical: with plenty of humor and musical verve, the film tells a story of self-empowerment, solidarity, and the courage to stand up for one another.

As a preview, the 2nd Vienna Labor Film Festival, in collaboration with Studio Brauneis, will present AMS – ARBEIT MUSS SEIN in a special screening on May 1.

Following the 7 p.m. screening, there will be a discussion with director Sebastian Brauneis and AMS Chairman Johannes Kopf.
