American Honey

Get away—just get away! Eighteen-year-old Star (Sasha Lane) comes from a troubled background and lives on the margins of society. When she meets Jake (Shia LaBeouf), she is immediately captivated. He travels the country with a crew of door-to-door salespeople, selling newspaper subscriptions through somewhat questionable means, and invites Star to join them. At night, the group parties hard with reckless abandon. But the seemingly boundless freedom they enjoy is governed by a strict regime: anyone who fails to make enough sales is punished, and every trick in the book is fair game.

American Honey is a road trip into the heart of America and the portrait of a young, untamed love. The film won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
