Washington D.C.: On the night of 17 June 1972, a break-in is reported at the Democratic Party headquarters: five men have sneaked into the building with the aim of stealing classified information and are caught red-handed. Two young reporters, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward of the Washington Post, were eventually assigned the story and did not believe it was a simple robbery: their investigations set off a chain of events.
