All of a Sudden

Marie-Lou Fontaine (Efira), the director of a Parisian nursing home, introduces the “Humanitude” method—despite resistance from her team—in an effort to preserve the dignity of every resident. Her encounter with Japanese theater director Mari Morisaki (Okamoto) changes her life. Marie-Lou finds new courage in the play that Mari—who is battling cancer—is currently directing. The relationship between the two women develops into a deep spiritual connection. Together, they transform the facility into a symbol of resistance and humanity in the face of the system’s limitations.
