On the eve of the French Revolution, fine dining remains a privilege reserved for the aristocracy. When the talented chef Manceron is dismissed by the Duke of Chamfort, he loses all passion for cooking. Back at his country estate, an encounter with the mysterious Louise helps him regain his footing. As the two share a desire for revenge against the Duke, they decide to create something unprecedented: France’s very first restaurant.
